AlARGE and quaint social function was the annual Pioneer ball given by the Daughters of the Vtah Pioneers. Daughters of the Mormon Mor-mon Battalion uixl Daughters of tta Handcart Pioneers at the Odeon last night. Costumes worn in the days of Uie pioneers, pio-neers, others planned after the fashions of those times, and also colonial dresses, with powdered hair were in evidence. The grand march, at 10 o'clock, was led by Governor and Mrs. William Spry and Mayor and Mrs. W. Mont Ferry. An attractive entertainment was given at the Unitarian church last night under un-der the auspices of the social committee of the church. A programme of fancy and interpretative music and dancing occupied oc-cupied the early part of the evening and general dancing was enjoyed later. Card tables were arranged for those who did not care to dance. A late super was served in the dining room of the thurch and punch was served during the evening. The dining room was in charge of Miss Caroline Harrison. Presiding at the supper table were Mrs. C. W. Watson and Mrs. Henderson. Serving Serv-ing punch were Miss Minna Thomas, Miss Louise Stanford. Miss Rosalind Straup and Miss Mary Snedden. Those giving fancy and interpretative dances were Miss Naomi Hoffman. Miss Vivian Smith, lire. Wellington E. Lake, Miss Katherine Lover! rur. Mrs. W. B. Stanley and E. E. B.iorling. Vocal selections selec-tions "were given by Mrs. Nellie Has-brouck Has-brouck Ellis and Mrs. Stella Angell Fletcher. The Nesbit orchestra furnished music. The supper table had red and white carnations as a centerpiece. A canopy of red poppies was arranged over the table. The patrons were as follows: Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Cowan. Mr. and Mrs. V. P Strange, Mr. and Mrs. John Malick. Judge, and Mrs. F. C. Loofbourow, Judge and Mrs. D. N. Straup. The Alpha chapter of the Chi Omega sorority will give its annual banquet in the banquet room at the Hotel Utah this evening at o'clock. The banquet committee com-mittee Is composed of Miss Marion Whitney Whit-ney mid Miss Priscilla Cartwright. Miss Mae Hawley will be toastmistress and the following will give toasts: Miss Ray Hansen. Miss Priscilla Cartwright and Miss Daisy Rolapp. A number of the freshmen members of the sorority will compose songs, which will be sung as duets, a trio and a solo. The following follow-ing will give duets: Miss Marie Hodson and Miss Dolores Stohl, Miss Dorothy White and Miss Margaret Felt. Miss Myrtle Myr-tle Green and Miss Margaret Marshall. University Uni-versity of rtah will hold its monthly social so-cial and business meeting at the sorority house, 320 University street, this afternoon after-noon at '2 o'clock. Miss Marjorie Howard will entertain with a matinee party at tlie Orpheum this afternoon followed by tea at the New-house New-house hotel, in compliment to Miss Marian Doe of Ran Francisco. The marriage of Miss Rebecca Addoms and W. I,. Foreman of Tacoma, Wash., will take place this afternoon at the home of the hri-le's parents. Mr. and 'Mrs. J. T Addoms. 77 N street. The couple will leave immediately after the ceremony for Visalla, Cal., to make their home. The Browning section of the Ladies' Literary club will meet at 10 o'clock this afternoon at the clubhouse, with Mrs. Edward Ed-ward Rosenhaum and Mrs A. J. Gorham as hostesses.
