Show REPUBLICANS NAME WOMEN COMMITTEES Executive and Advisory Bodies Will Co-operate With State Organization. After a conference yesterday with some of the women workers of the Republican party, State Chairman Glen Miller started about the formation of a woman's executive execu-tive committee and a woman's advisory committee to co-operate with the Republican Re-publican committee in the campaign. Three members of the executive committee com-mittee and two members of the advisory committee were named yesterday. Others will be chosen from time to time until every county in the state is represented on one or both the women's committees. Those named yesterday for the executive execu-tive committee 'were Mrs. Annie Wells Cannon, representing the Republican Women's Wo-men's club of Salt iake; Mrs. Margaret Zane Cherdron of the woman's board of Salt Ixike, and Miss Zetha Hammer,Mr. Miller's private secretary. Miss Hammer was selected with a view to permitting the state committee to keep in touch with the activities of the women's committee. As a nucleus of the advisory committee commit-tee Mr. Miller selected Mrs. .Jeanette B. Hyde and Mrs. Justin R. Davis, both of the Women's Republican club of Salt Lake. The appointment of the committees commit-tees probably will not be completed for about two weeks. According to the reports received by Mr. Miller, the women of the state are elated over the plank in the Republican platform with reference to appointing women to state positions. "They are enthusiastic- over this plank, as well as over the attitude of Governor Charles K. Hughes toward woman's suffrage," suf-frage," Mr. Miller asserted. "They are very anxious to do their full share In the campaign. We have decided that the way to handle the matter successfully is to appoint a small, compact committee of women to serve on a woman's executive execu-tive committee. "This committee will meet frequently and keep in touch with the state committee com-mittee at all times. The advisory committee com-mittee will be much larger. Every count v in the state will be represented on it." |
