"Each year this unique program provides a rare opportun and ity to some 60 college driver education teachers to develop the specialized skills needed to control skids on slippery pavements," he said. "Unfortunately, most drivers never have toe opportunity of practicing skid control until faced with a real-lif- e emergency situation on the highway, Prof. Neyhart noted. Eight new cases have been reported thus far in member, two each in Utah anc Emery counties, one each ir Salt Lake, Uintah and San Juar counties. The total for the yea now stands at 52. The persistent spread of tu berculosis in the state was de scribed in a report prepared by Lyman Smart of Bountiful, th( president of the Utah Tuberculo sis and Health Association foi the board of directors. As an illustration of toe way In which toe spread of tubercu losis is prevented, Mr. Smart de scribed one recent case discov red in Utah County. The victim, an elderly man hos pitalized i na local hospital for neumonia, was found to have active tuberculosis. Skin tests and sputum tests all con firmed the diagnosis. He began taking drugs TB the program through drug operated by the State Division of Health with the local healtt department. He received three simultane-ou- r drugs, streptomycin, isonia zid and ethambutol. Three drug usage is normal treatment in order to avoid the emergency of drug resistant organisms. He will have to continue drug therapy for two years or longer. The victim was released from the hospital shortly thereafte to continue treatment in his Utah County home. That saves Utah taxpayers thousands ol dollars. In many cases today a TB patient does not have to gc x-ra- anti-tuberculo- and ice conditions. They provide four to seven times as much traction on snow or ice as regular tires. "By heeding these rules, most skids could be avoided in the first place," he concluded. Recognized as the "father of driver education," Prof. Neyhart driver edpioneered high-schoucation in this country, teaching toe first driver education classes at State College, Pennsylvania, High School in 1933. He is now a consultant on driver education to the American Automobile Association, and serves as President of the Safe Winter Driving ol League. rr NOTICE OF DELINQUENCY SILVER BAY MINES, INC. 2812 East Nora Drive Salt Lake City, Utah NOTICE There are delinquent upon the following described stock, on account of assessment levied on the 4th day of August, 1970, the several amounts set opposite the names of the respective shareholders as follows: Number Certificate of Shares Number Name Carl Coons A. There will oe no limit on bluegill and white mss during the 1971 season. He can be treated through out patient clinics, or :he physicians office instead. Public health nurses from the Utah County Health Department administered toe daily streptomycin injections that his doctor had prescribed for six veeks. Now three oral drugs are being taken. Health workers quickly turned their attention to those who could have contracted toe disease from toe newly discovered case. The most likely to have been infected, in addition to his wife, were a son, daughter-in-laand two grandchildren, who also lived in Utah County. Each were given tests by toe health department. The wife and toe son were found to have begun taking preventive treatment. Each will have to take anti-Tdrugs for at least one year. While they do not have tuberculosis in a communicable form, preventive treatment will help keep them from developing active tuberculosis later in life and thus prevent the future spread of TB germs to unsuspecting others. m w, B State and federal government collected an average of $154 in special taxes on each motor vehicle operated in toe U.
