Mij Drar Sir: While keenly realizing that the success suc-cess of the liberal parly at the coming election elec-tion means continued prosperity not only for Salt Lake Uity but for the whole tcrri-torp tcrri-torp of Utah and putting the welfare of my adopted home above personal ambition and fearing that calumnies and petty jealousies against myself might endanger en-danger the success of the liberal couucil ticket of my precinct, I would hereby tendering my resignation as a nominee. That when nominated it was understood un-derstood to he a Compliment not only to myself, but to our fellow citizens of my nationality, and the only regret I have is tho fear that the Scandinavian element might not have the representation on the liberal ticket to w hich it is entitled because of numbers and because of its fealty to the party. In taking this action I defy all attacks upon my personal character for integrity ami MUrta my honesty in all matters In which I have here, or from Whence I came, been connected, as a citizen or in business.
