Show CIVEN PERMISSION TO WED. Toiiy Society in England Are Witnessing a Marriage In High lMe- London, July 24. Special. The court of chancery having given its sanction to Ihe niarriago of Hon. Arthur Ar-thur Walsh, M. P., eldest son of Lord Ornathwaite, to Lady Clementine Pratt, only daughter of the late and sister of the present Marquis Camden, was solemnized sol-emnized today at St. Paul's Knigts-bridge, Knigts-bridge, in the presence of an aristocratic aristo-cratic company. The bride entered the church at 2 o'clock, leaniug on tho arm of her brother, who led her to the chancel steps, and afterwards gave her away. There were eight bridesmaids, brides-maids, all of whom were attired in dresses of white muslin embroidered em-broidered and trimmed with Valenciennes lace, hats en suite, trimmed with moire ribbons and ostrich feathers.' Tho bride wore a dress of rich ivory silk, trained and draped with old Limerick lace, from beneath which in front, peeped a foot kilt bearing tufts of cheville fringe. Sho wore a tulle veil and orange blossoms, pearl ornaments and adiamond aud sapphire ring. The groom is the son of Lord Ornathwaite, a tory landlord who owus vast estates in the south of Ireland, Ire-land, on which tho tenants from generation gener-ation to generation have starved and perished. His agoDt is the notorious Geo. Sands, regarded as tho greatest scoundrel that the land has produced since the days of St. Patrick. The moral character of Sands was so vile that a few months ago the lord chancellor chancel-lor was forced to withdraw from him her majesty's commission as a justice of the peace, an honor he had enjoyed for nearly a a quarter of a century, and yet Lord Ornathwait linds him a good and useful agent. |
