The Eureka Chief publishes over twenty mining patents every week, which is a good prospectus to tho Eu-reka volume, and not like the real es-tate boom, there are millions of dollars being produced, with prospects of something better than a panic loradiv-deud- . A bill has also been in-troduced for the division of Boise eounty, making Banner the cnuntv seat. A bill is also before the house for the division of Bingham county, and creating Teton county, with Idaho Falls the county seat. WYOMING NOTES. Hams Fork, a town fifty miles north of Evanston. on the Oregon Short Line has been incorporated. A movement is on foot to bring Almy in closer relations with Evanston. These towns have a population of nearly tO'M. and are only four miles apart. It is hoped that the distance will become lessoned. Almy depends upon Evanston to supply MOO miners with the necessaries of life. Rawlins Journal: Hon. A. M. Start-zell'- s sheep herders are the fortunate discoverers of a large deposit of alum S out about twenty miles southwest of town. The samples they brought in are almost chemically pure. The deposit f will no doubt prove of great value at rv no distant day. NEVADA NOTES. j The mines of Spafford, near Palisade, are now principally owned by one roan, who promises to commence active oper atinns when he perfects his title to the properties. W. J. The report of State Controller Hal-loc- k for the year 1800 goes to show that the rate of taxation In Nevada in 1880 was less than in the states of Illinois in 1887, Kausas In 188S. or Iowa in the year 188ft. and that the value of taxable prop-erty in the State is constantly on the increase. MONTANA NOTES. The legislature at Helena is not doing much nowadays, but it is furnishing a large amount of work for men who are cot members. The Big Ox Mining eompanv noar Helena has collapsed for want of" funds. That is the outfit that Mine Inspector Swallow reported on so favorably. No further news has been received from the McCarthy ville shooting. Dep-uty Sprague, who is after the murder-ers, is a determined man and w ill cap- ture the masked murderers if possible. It is related on rather bail that Governor authority Toole flipped a silver dollar to determine whether ho should send his message to the rump legisla-ture or the Helena city council. It foil "tail," so he sent it to the tail legisla- ture. liutte Miner: Hutchinson, the smoke bauisher, did not arrive in Butte last evening, having stopped in Helena overnight. That settles it. The smoke will not be banished, for if Hutchinson Is not convinced bv tho Helena boom-- , era that it impossible to drive the smoke from Butte, he will be arrested and sen-tenced by a board of lunacy to impris- onment for life at Warm Springs. , COLORADO NOTES.
