Show Mining Congress Readies Meetings Dr. Glenn T. Seaborg. chairman chair-man of the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission, will be the feature speaker at a two-day conference on the use and application of radioisotopes in the mining industry, in-dustry, which will be held in Denver, April 13 and 14, under the sponsorship of the American Mining Congress and the Colorado Colo-rado School of Mines Research Foundation, Inc., in cooperation with the Office of Isotopes Development De-velopment of the AEC. Dr. Seaborg will address a special spe-cial luncheon session of the Conference Con-ference on Friday, April 14, presenting pre-senting a broad picture of developments devel-opments in the uranium, atomic energy and related fields and pointing up the potential uses of radioisotopes. In addition to the luncheon meeting, the conference will include in-clude four sessions devoted to 1) what radioisotopes can mean to the mining industry, (2) radioisotopes radio-isotopes in geology, geochemistry, geochemis-try, and mineral processing research. re-search. (3) radioisotope applications applica-tions in mineral processing, and (4) applications in quality con- trol, maintenance and testing. The conference will be opened Thursday morning, April 13 by Julian D. Conover, executive vice president of the American Mining Min-ing Congress. With E. H. Crab-tree, Crab-tree, director of the Colorado School of Mines Research Foundation Foun-dation presiding, addresses highlighting high-lighting the present and potential poten-tial uses of radioisotopes in industry in-dustry will be presented by Paul C. Aebersold, director of the Office Of-fice of Isotopes Development of the Atomic Energy Commission, Washington, D.C., and Harold J. Rose, consultant of Pittsburgh, Pa. r |
