Show Thiokol Lays Off 92 Workmen Curtailment of a portion of the work on the second stage Minuteman has resulted in the layoff of a total of 92 employees engaged in this program, it was announced by the Utah Division of Thiokol Chemical Corporation this week. No further reduction in work force is anticipated, the statement said. It was pointed out that the reduction amounted to about thre per cent of the nearly 3200 employees on the company roll as of the first of the year. This was brought about by the reduction reduc-tion in work load on the second stage engine for which Thiokol holds only a "backup" responsibility. respon-sibility.
