The primary associations asso-ciations of Weber county held their annual an-nual conference in eoiuineuioruliou of the birthday of Hicham Young in Lester Les-ter 1'itrk today. Tim forenoon wan occupied in tiie usual manner by speeches, sons, dialogues, class exercises exer-cises and instrumental music. Kvery ward in the county bad representative present and most all of them rendered some part of the programme. Dinner was taken at the pavilion by the olliccrs and delegates from the county. Jn the afternoon the children were permitted to indulge in dancing ceremonies, cere-monies, which are not always held on itch occasions. The evetiiug will be pent in a dance for adults, to which all re invited. -t- On last Saturday the county teachers' association convened at the city hill. Superintendent J. S. Perry conducted the exercises. The sale of seats began this morning morn-ing aud a large number are already taken. The contract for erecting the power plant of the Ogden Street Railway eoiupay was signed . on Saturday. Another tract of land nearer the city has been purchased and men were set to work today on the new building. In ess than sixty days the electric railway will be in operation throughout the entire en-tire city and the long walking siege will be ended. Charles Abernathy has gone to Bos-Ion Bos-Ion to attend the national convention of the typographical union. Several members of the Latter Day Saints church went to Salt Lake City yesterday morning to attend the annual an-nual session of the Young Men's United Improvement association. Half fare rates are in force on the -Rio Grande and Union Pacitio railways and a great many will remain in the city until the close of the musical festival. -f--t- Iluutsville has a fine two story brick school house under erection. When completed it will be the linest in the county outside of the county. Another one is to lie built iu the Burch Creek district. Bids are now being received by tho county superintendent. Some more houses will be erected before fall and the county will soon be supplied with tirst ciass institutions of learning. -!- The Novelty theatre cloes for the sesson ton'trht.
