I 5 run-gratulat- e suili-cientl- nrnn 1; r l-- Why should not Utah send ly iine exhibit ot fruit to the AVorld's Fair? The splendid collection which competed for the Irrigation congress prizes estab lished the fact that this State is entitled to front rank as a fruit State. This being the case, win shouldn't we branch out and seek national honors? The Palace of Horticulture ar the Woild's Fair is almost linished. It is the largest building evei erected at any exposition for the reception of fruits and Mowers. The plans of the exhibitors are advanced to warrant the assertion that the displays will be far more attractive and complete than were ever assembled at any world's fair. In this handsome building little else than fruits and flowers will find plaee. Vegetables will 1m shown in the Palace of Agriculture, which is the adjoining building on tin north. The Palace of Horticulture is surrounded by beautiful gardens, showing the choicest collections of outdoor plants and flowers, while the conservatories will contain the rarest and most beautiful collections ever exhibited at a world's fair. The main room of the Palace of Horticulture, which covers an area of four acres, will be entirely devoted to the pomological exhibits. This large area is practically twice the area that has been devoted to fresh fruit exhibits at any exposition, and the floor space is so arranged that all of it is good exhibit space. Then are no main aisles running through the building, but the space is rut up into irregular sections with the aisles running in all directions, and by this means the visitors are evenly distributed throughout the building. One of the requirements to be complied with be vfore space is assigned to any State or country is thai sufficient evidence be furnished the chief of tla- !' part men t that there will be enough fruit plated in storage to cover space on the opening day.
