Several bets were posted on local and national issues. One bet of $50 that the American party would not poll 5000 votes In Salt Lake county was quickly snapped up and more called for. An offer of $1000 to 1600 that the American party would elect one man on their county ticket was not called. Two or three small bets on Roosevelt carrying Utah were made. One bet of $25 even money was posted on the Presidential election in New York, and two $10 bets on the Governors of the Kmpire State were made. So far few if any large bets have been made In this city. A change may take place as soon as the campaign cam-paign managers announce their predictions.
