Jones, widely known as Goljen Rule Jones, Mayor of this city, died last evening at I 7 o'clock, from an attack of pneumonia. lie had n unconscious uncon-scious for thirty-six hours and the end came peacefully. The remains of Mayor Jones will He in state at Memorial hall on Thursday and Friday until noon, and the funeral services will be held at the residence on the veranda and the addresses will be made from the veranda. The lawns will be open to alL The pall-bearers will be selected from his employees. Samuel M. Jones was born In Wales In 1846. lie came to the United States with his parents when S years old. Poverty compelled him to work when a child. In 1864 he went to Tltusvill. Pa., oil fields to labor; later he became a producer In Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia. He Invented an Improved Im-proved oil well appliance. He estab- Ushed a manufactory and Introduced various reforms in labor conditions. He was three times elected Mayor of Toledo. To-ledo.
