The Redwood Service Center will provide free bus service to the e Center Northwest on Mondays, Thursdays and Friday afternoons from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. for swimming. Papa-Daki- Board of Education in Salt Lake City Changes Boundaries and Office Terms s, In the recent session of the six municipal wards to seven Utah Legislature, boards of members from seven precincts. The bill outlined the way in which members would be elected, length of terms, etc. Basically it education of cities of first class (Salt Lake City only) were 12 from members changed from DAVIS CO UN TV UME- - meant that Salt Lake City had to be changed to the precinct boundary system by election time, and that all current board members' terms would end as of December 31, 1972. If these current members wish to remain as board members, they must run for election in new precinct districts. Only one member will be elected in the final elections from each precinct. Terms of office for the newly elected members as of January 1, 1973, will be as follows: Precinct No. 1 4 years Precinct No. 2 - 2 years Precinct No. 3 - 4 years Precinct No. 4 2 years Precinct No. 5 - 4 years Precinct No. 6 - 2 years Precinct No. 7 4 years -- -- -- This arrangement will give every two experienced carry-ove- r after 1974. years Candidates for school board membership must enter the primary elections and the two persons receiving the two highest number of votes will enter the General Election in November. To file, interested persons must nominate themselves in writing and file with the County Clerk not later than Wednesday, July 26. At least five citizens may file on behalf of a candidate in the same manner. The Clerk of the Board of Education will post notices of the elections in each precinct in June. |
