I Being involved in the Model Cities Program for the last 3 years, and seeing it grow from an idea to a reality , has been to say the very least, an "experience. It has been an experience that has sometimes been very enjoyable, sometimes frustrating, sometimes horribly discouraging, sometimes rewarding, but most of all very, very enlightening. It is interesting to become involved in any program of any itype, be it P.T. A., church. Model Cities or etc. that your friends can identify you with that program whether it be good or bad. When it is going bad it is sometimes hard to have to put up with the criticism of those friends, but when it's going good it is enjoyable to hear the"plaudits" of those friends. Surely the program has done a lot of things "wrong" and not always made the best decisions but you must understand that that is because people are involved and "people" just aren't perfect (if they were, they wouldn't be here). But the program has also done things "right" and that's because people are involved (and because people are trying to be perfect). It's some of EL I think that a program sponsored called ASSIST is a "right" thing.
