Show s , j 4 Project Demonstrates Need for Lower Bus Fares getting it together GOD'S OUTDOOR CHURCH Cathedral like the mountains stand, tall pinnacles of hope. The stars are shining brightly on each rugged shattered slope. The moon it adds its luster, tinsel like upon the snow And bathes each rocky canyon in a somber hollowed glow. The wind is the piper, playing in God's great outdoor church. Can 't you hear the hymns He's playing on the ash, the spruce, and birch ? Nature's everlasting choir chants of the holy birth. And the swaying pine trees whisper, of good will and peace on earth. So come ye foolish mortals from the busy marts of men. Come to this tabernacle and be made whole again. Come to the sparkling altar. The ice incrusted waterfall, And your spirit will be humbled by the beauty of it all. The Model Cities project, bus which provided half-pric- e fare for Senior Citizens, has come to an end as of the first of December. There were 143,556 bus tokens available to be sold to senior citizens at - half-pric- e all have been sold. There are approximately 64,000 tokens in the possession of senior citizens. The tokens are good for bus fare as long as the people possess them; there is no time limit on their value. The Model Cities project clearly demonstrated the need for low-cos- t public transportation for the elderly. The original schedule for the sale of bus tokens was to cover a period; however, due to the great demand for the fare, the supply of tokens was sold in slightly over four months. An 1 1 .2 increase in ridership on the UTA buses during October resulted in part from the bus token subsidy project. ten-mont- h half-pric- e i The most important goal of the project - that of providing You will find new strength and courage and from pain will find surcease, In the glory of this temple you will find happiness and peace. senior citizens with greater mobility - has not been abandoned with the ending of this project.
