She stated she felt Caputo who is also Assistant Principal of Horace Mann Junior High School, is an important factor related to the decrease of delinquency in the Northwest area. The Council voted to allocate $55.00 to the Northwest basketball team, in order to pay the entrance fee to the City basketball league. Ruth Yarbrough initiated a Council discussion concerning activities which would serve the Northwest community, bring people togehter and raise funds for future programs. Members discussed serving a hot lunch at the Center at regular intervals, perhaps once a month. The Center is not jocated near commercial lunch spots and it was agreed that workers and visitors might consider a hot lunch a convenience as well as a treat. |
