One lady wrote to say she has been making a scrapbook of thesa articles and finds the same rules apply to the writing of her friends and family. This is very true. And when knowledge is applied in this manner it becomes wisdom which no one can take from you. As you learn new rules that are applied to the writing specimens under consideration, check the writing of people you know. The two characteristics, thus combined, team up to create a thief who steals to gratify vanity. When he is caught, again vanity overwhelms his personality and he would attempt to lie his way out of the difficulty. If he went to jail, his vanity was again injured and thus created a grudge situation of which he would never let go. Carrying this kind of personality around one's neck like a millstone, becomes a very big load indeed. And it was all created by parents who simply spoiled him rotten as a child.
