record see snyder made what promises to be a very very rich discovery this week of a very strong vein of jasper quartz carrying gold old and silver about ten miles southeast of the city he brought in several specimens of the rock when the character of the ore was discovered it strongly resembles the rich gold and silver rock of cripple creek colorado metallic T gold and noodles of silver can plainly be seen in the specimens and it will without doubt run very high in both metals the vein can be traced for a considerable distance the foot wall being of porphyry and the hanging han fring wall of lime he will return at once and locate the property and no doubt if it turns out to be what is now expected will create considerable excitement the quartz resembles onyx and an dagate agate but a man familiar with this character of rock pronounces it jasper quartz without question |
