Show PUBLIC SCHOOLS MONDAY All Buildings in Readiness W With th Exception of the New Uintah Structure UNIVERSiTY ALSO RESUMES TWO LIVELY MONTHS AHEAD FOR STU STUDENTS DENTS The publIc schools of the city will re reopen reopen open tomorrow after the Christmas hell holi holidays days The opening of the new school has been postponed for one week as the building Is not yet et ready for oc occupancy occupancy The pupils who will go to this school are now attending the Riverside and old Uintah schools The new building In tile the northwestern part of the city built for the accommodation of children livIng In Oakley addition be opened for occupancy pancy In time for the beginning of the semester which begins Feb 1 The J Jack Jackson ck son school is now overcrowded Miss Sylvia Cohn who recently re turned from a six months trip through Europe will take charge of the Twelfth Twelfths s hool as principal vIce Miss Elizabeth resigned who will m leave heave In a short time for southern California to tomake tomake make her home School opens ut at the university tomorrow after atter a recess of two weeks Although there are many pupils who will not be beable beable able to return to school for two or three days because they spent the vacation away from the city regular instruction will begin tomorrow morning There are two more months of school in this semes ter which ends Feb 1 A great part of thIs time will he be taken up by the final examinations Outside of a little paInting and cleaning little jUle work has been done around the school New gravel walks have been laid between the different buildings and to the street cars The shop building the mm mill and the laboratories were all closed during the vacation The next two months will be lively ones at the school Many social events and student activities are l The junior promenade the senior hop and the Delta Sigma dance arc some of the bigger vents events besides a great many informal at af fairs falis at the fraternIty houses The inter interstate interstate state debate between the universities ot of Utah and Colorado wm will take place early in January at the Salt Lake theatre The final of the interclass debate will also be held The dramatic club which recently elected the cast for its plays this win winter winter ter will commence rehearsing There are numerous other events planned before the close of the first semester |
