Show The Coming Election. Suit Lake Cay, Jan. 20, '71. Editors lie raid: As our municipal election is drawing draw-ing nigh, and qur former sy&tem of meeting in a large building, as a niass meeting or caucus, is somewhat objectionable, ob-jectionable, on tho fact that the number num-ber of voters is now so large and would create a great deal of confusion confus-ion if all interested were to nominate their choice foroifice, and a large amount of tinjo would be consumed in canvassing and voting upon the merits of each nominee there, I would fcu;gest that the general caucus of the city be composed of delegates' from each precinct, and these delegates be authorized by a meeting of tax-payers in kucIi precinct to present their nominee nom-inee nt the general caucus. In defense of the precinct nomination nomina-tion I present the fact that now there are two or three councilors anil aldermen alder-men living in oueprecinot, and others have no resident representatives in the council; thus giving tlie unfair condition of taxation without representation, repre-sentation, and a consequent lack of necessary legislation for those neglected neg-lected parte of the city. There is ample time for this now, and I ask lor information, the proper iniatory steps for such a consummation; consumma-tion; also the apportionment of councilors coun-cilors to each precinct, in addition to thy alderpian they are entitled to.
