Show Kansas Legislative Purity. They have a pleasant way of insuruct-mg insuruct-mg their representatives in somo of the Kansas counties. By the Missouri Republican we seo that colonel York, a representative of Montgomery county, when startiog for the legislative session at Topoka, was escorted to tho railroad station by acomaiitteo of his constituents, constitu-ents, who assured him of their confidence confi-dence in him, wished him G-od-speed, and blandly informed hi:n that if he voted for the re election to the United States senate of senator Pomeroy they wou.d extend to mm tne hospitalities of the nearest tree to tho station on his return. Yet though t'icrc ia a decided opposition to Pomeroy's reelection, re-election, it ia expected that he will secure it by a free and "judicious" distribution of money, as there are stid numerous needy ieuislators in Kansas whom the Caldwell exposure will not scare. |
