Early on the morning of the 1st instant, Thomas Anderson, of Jordan settlomont, who was engaged hording sheep about thrco miles from Eureka city, Tintic, undertook to celebrate the advent of the new year by discharging as a Balute his gun loaded with two or three times the proper charge of powder, in order or-der to make a loud icport : ltesull gun burst; Mr. Anderson's thumb denuded de-nuded of flesh, torn entirely out t'rom i:s socket and his hand and wrist otherwise other-wise mutilated. Dr. A. IT. Noon removed re-moved t'no injured thumb, which it w:tt impossible to save, and dressed the wound. Mr. Anderson is at present pre-sent doing as well as can be expected. |
