Show Death From Small pox. --Mrs. Eliza Aon Merril, (daughter of Wm. L. Perkins of tho 19th ward) died on New Year's fay from small-pox, in tho thirty-first year of her age. This ca3C we noticed a few days ago. The deceased it appears caught the infection infec-tion from a young man who had (unknown (un-known to himself) been exposed to the disease whilo out west. Ho is now ontirely recovered from it and has been unremitting in his attentions to the lady during her sickness and feels inconsolable in-consolable at her death. From her favorable symptoms strong hopes were entertained of her speedy roooyery as late as Monday last. She leaves a hasbaud and two ohildren. Tho house in which the death oo-ourred oo-ourred is situated upon the banks of tho Jordan River, about throe miles north west from the city, and stands quite a distanoo from any other residence. resi-dence. Every precaution has been taken to prevent tho spread of this loathsomo disease. |
