Show Sudden Death. YLStorday, a man named H. J. Gilruy, who bB resided in the 21t ward, and who has been drinking heavily, ' came down lown saber euough . axid went lo work iu his blaiksmith shop at the corner of Plumb street and the alley running through lo Commercial street, and continued at work until alter noon, when he went out for a slimulaut, aud drauk sornewbat heavily ior a short time. During his out, he told a saloon man that he would "sleep the sleep that knows no waking" bufore morning. When he returned he laid down behind the bollwa and soon thereafter began moaning, groaning and showing signs of agony, When a physiaian was sent for. The doctor thought he. was under the influence of strong drink and paid little attention atten-tion to him. In a brief time afterward, Gitroy died. A coroner'H inquest was , held in the evening, when the jury! returned a verdict of ' died from oauscs unknown to the jury." The deceased came to thia country from Canada about a year ago, with Bix ohildreu, hia wife having died in in the east, aud married a Mrs. Scott, who had one child. Sexton Taylor took charge of the corpse last night. . |
