Show I OBITUARY 7 The death of Thomas Oondie of this city as was announced in Wednesdays issue culminated after a few weeks illness due principally to old age Deceased was born in Dunfermline Sot land and in his early years moved to Clackmannan where resided till 1848 In the early part of this year he received the g pel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints and December cf the same year emigratea witn bis family to St Louis After about one years elapse he moved to Council Bluffs Iowa where for about two years he encountered the iaclemenc s that the other saints endured Was ordained a teacher and officiated in that office nil 1852 when he emigrated to Salt Lake City tating up his residence in the Fourth flfard where he has resided till his death Since his arrivil here was ordained an elder and finally a high Priest which ofll e he has held ever sine and died as he had lived an houest faithful faith-ful nd uprighiBalnt with full hope of a glorious resurrection Iu 1830 he married Hellen Sharp of Clack mannan who died February 21st 188 J in this cay w s father of twelve children she now living fdrtyieven grandchildren an I twentytwo great grandchildren all of which are in full leilonship of the same chinch During his sickness he seemed to experience no pain and expired serenely IIi one Wuuld fall into a deep sleep The funeral ceremonies will be held in the Fourth Ward Meetinghouse at 11 am Saturaay the 12th instant All his families friends are invited Cos J |
