II., came from his work on Tuesday night of last week, and, for some real or fanoied misdemeanor, gave one of his boys a severe whipping. Shortly after, his two boys; about H and 14 years of age, seized John and took him out doors, aud, tying a handkerchief handker-chief over his mouth lor a gag, took ' him to the barn and hung him up with a rope around his neck. His wife, going out to see what kept them so long, found Sullivan in an insensible condition, and cut him down. The boys have disappeared, and have not been heard from since. It is said that Sullivan was in the habit of beating beat-ing his boys frequently. |
