Show ' The Last Sensation. Yesterday morning quite a sensation was created at the phtvojrvapWc gallery of Mr C. V. Carter, by the- discovery that on a couple of newly taken photographs were the ghostly likeness of a man, besides the sitter, the more distinct one said to be that of the deceased Captain Storey. On this plate a child was taken; and on the other one a lady was taken, but here the apparition appar-ition likeness was not so plain. How is it, and why is it? We confess to a large amount of incredulity, in these spectral appearances, and wouldn't be surprised if somebody had been tampering with Mr. Carter's plates. What do you say, Cliailes; can anybody any-body get at them when your back's turned? Tho thing has been done before in other places. |
