Frovisional certilieates having been granted to the I'emeeratic members elect to Coneress, they have left for Washington. In the State the Senate stands five Republicans Repub-licans and six lVunocrats. One of the l'emocratic Senators elect has but six of a majority, and another only nineteen. The Stal .nian claims that the House stands ICO Republicans to If I Democrats, giving the latter the four Labor Reform men, included in this cstituate. The Statesman claims that lour of the members who were returned by the town clerks are Republicans, Repub-licans, but the Democrats claim, and are no doubt sure, of a part if not the whole of them, which will give them a majority of six, which they say by the votes of disaffected or bolting Republicans Repub-licans can be raised to txvelve or fourteen four-teen on the allotment of offices, the complete ousting of the present incumbents, in-cumbents, and the change of the acts relative to the Supreme Judicial Court, aud to enable a complete rotation on the bench, which are the subjects of discussion in Democratic circles. |
