Show Leavitt's All-Star Company. Another of M. B. Leavitt's specialty combinations is billed for three nights at the Salt Lake Theatre next week, commencing com-mencing on Wednesday, the 9th, and in its line promises to be a great attraction. A leading Eastern paper says of the troupe: The Double Specialty Company, under the management of Mr. M. B. Leavitt, opened at the matinee at the People's Theatre to a good-sized house. The performance per-formance was repeated in the evening to an audience that completely filled the theatre, standing room being at a premium pre-mium long before the curtain rose. The company embraced a well-balanced selection selec-tion of unique performers, whose varied peculiarities as combined make a very enjoyable entertainment. There are no particular stars in the troupe, but each performer is fully up to the average in the specialty for which he is announced. Mr. Joe E. Sullivan and Mr. W. F. Carroll Car-roll created a large share of the fun of the evening, and the bicvcle-riding of the Martell family was really excellent. The Musical Kings, as thev are announced, comprising Messrs. Wood, Bersley, and the Weston Brothers, are really refined musical artists, and their performance was deservedly applauded. One very pleasing feature was the singing of La Marseillaise and the Star Spangled Ban ker, miroaucing tne .Bartholdi statue of Liberty by Miss Mollie Wilson. Till's Marionettes present a remarkable performance perfor-mance of Automata, exceeding anything that has yet been seen here. A very funny afterpiece closes the performance", that is well worth the attention of the lovers of variety for the coming week. |
