These overly smart young fools should be taught a lasting lesson. The Moulton Mining Company, with mines and mills at Butte, Montana, will pay a dividend of seven and a half cents per Rhare aggregating $30.C:3 on the 28th instant. Total of five dividends paid this year, $ir0,0CD. One hundred and fifty "Brooklynites" from Bingham canyon came in on a Ivio Grande extra Thursday night for a bit of holiday recreation. The whole outfit returned today to-day chock full of satisfaction with their Xmas experiences. At the Methodist Episcopal Church, Third South street, east side, near Main, the pastor, pas-tor, ltev. S. J. Can-oil, will preach a Christmas Christ-mas sermon at 11 a. in., and will preach also at 7:30 p. m. Class meeting at 10:15 a. m., Sunday school at 12;30, and young people's meeting at C:4" p. m. In our account of the testimony of City Attorney Kichards part of the testimony of Selectman Frank Armstrong, that relating to the giving of money to Hampton, was, by an error, attributed to Mr. Kichards. We are pleased to make the correction in justice to M.r. Kichards. Ben Liebes. of the famous cigar establishment establish-ment of San Francisco, presented the company's com-pany's compliments of the season to Messrs. Bochtol & Sands and Josh Arthur, Ernest Pratt and Tom Bird, all of the Walker House bar, in the shape of a fine sample box of cigars each. Diphtheria has broken loose once more and many families are quarantined about the city. Little Tracy Godbe. the six-year-old daughter of Mr. Anthony Godbe, in t he Nineteenth ward, is lvinj very low. The four-year-old child of Mr. Stenhouse, Fanny, is dangerously ill with the dread destroyer. Through the instrumentality of Patrolman James C. Watson, the boys at the penitentiary peniten-tiary were presented with over $1C3 worth of appropriate Christmas presents Thursday evening. In behalf of all concerned Mr. Watson returns thanks to the many kind donors along his beat for the variety and extent of cheering presents given. The Brig Hampton trial closed Thursday afternoon. Mr. Varian's argument for the prosecution was most forcible and touching. The jury retired at R o'clock and returned an hour later with a verdict to the Court that the defendant had been f euud guilty of conspiracy, con-spiracy, as set forth in the indictment. Sentence Sen-tence will be given Tuesday at 10 o'clock a. m. The Grau Opera Company is "doing" Helena in great shape. Besides holding forth in the Opera House in that town, some of the company are treating t he Police Court to a free performance. One of the members mem-bers of the company distinguished himself by singing "Take Me to the County Jail." His wish was complied with, and he will not be liberated by airr curious circumstances nntil his fine is settied for. It is reported that Mr. W. H. Dickson has withdrawn bis resignation as Prosecuting Attorney for Utah, and that he will return to Salt Lake and resume the duties of the ollice immediately. The resignation is said to have been withdrawn at the request of Attorney-General Garland, and, if so, indicates indi-cates that the Administration is in with the plot to "persecute" the polyganiists of Utah. Next Monday evening is set apart for the j ball given under the auspices of the Masonic fraternity, for the benefit of the only publio f library in Utah. The Walker Opera House, where the entertainment takes place, will be f handsomely decorated for the occasion.
