Show THE PROMISING LAVA DISTRICT How the New Owners Will Exploit the Horn Silver Several Other. . fjodes Being Developed. ; There has been quite a noticeable improvement im-provement around Era, Idaho, both in trade and mining interests, since the sale of the Horn Silver mine was finally consummated con-summated to Salt Lake parties and work commenced to develop the property and resume the shipment of ore. ; .' ' ! It seems to be the intention of thecom-pany thecom-pany to ship ' all the high 'grade ore,' of which there are several !car-ioads now on the dump, that they can, ' during the next month or two, and then suspend sus-pend all but development work during dur-ing the '- winter.' They are now working work-ing about, twenty-five inen, but . will reduce ;; their .force: to, eight. or , tea as soori as" the ' ore 'shipments "are made. that there ii now ore enough on and near the surface to run a 20-stamp mill a year, and that his company will erect one in the spring. The uncertainty regarding regard-ing the movements of this company has had a depressing effect, during the past summer ; but now, it is thought, the attention at-tention of capitalists will be directed to the district at large, and it will soon be demonstrated that there are many other properties here as good as the Horn Silver." . .- . ,., ! : 7 . ; Considerable work is being done by the prospectors who have . located the ground adjoining and contiguous to the Horn Silverand alleged extensions are being found on every hill and in every direction for a mile around. E. Stamper, formerly of Hailey, is actively pusning work on two claims, the Silver Trumpet and the Hudson Bay, both adjoining the Horn Silver on the south end, and carrying carry-ing Ore and quartz of a similar quality. This gentleman has some very original theories as to the action of Noah's deluge upon the rocks, and the formation generally, gener-ally, and can easily demonstrate the manner in which the richness was carried car-ried by the waters and distributed along the contacts during that period of excessive exces-sive dampness. The Whale and East Side claims are also being worked, it is said with promising results.; Shipments have been recently made from half a dozen claims on Antelope Creek, and the results generally have been quite flattering, and even fully up to the expectations of the owners. : . Some building is still being done in Era, though nothing : of a boom in that line is expected this fall. Several capitalists of the higher grade, who ride on the stage and put up coin at the boarding houses, are now in the eamp, looking over the prospects, and it is thought Borne sales will soon be made. The camp has, however, a superabundance superabund-ance of the "blanket" and "tin horn" order of capitalists, whose presence causes many sudden disappearances of the supplies sup-plies from prospectors' camps, and who seem decidedly averse to going out afoot while loose horses are found in the hills.
