He said he was not prepared to answer any questions iu regard to bis reported resignation, but it is pretty certaiu that the report is ufltruc. Tweed said that the great success of the Reform partv took him completely by surprise, lie was totally unprepared for it. The Tribune says Tweed has been rapidly transferring his property into other hands. A few days ago he sold another piece of valuable property, which cost two hundred and fifty thousand dollars, to his son. He has also sold stock in various railway and other companies, in most instances at a sacrifice. He no longer figures as Director of the Third Avenue Railroad. Hi9 name was dropped, for the reason that he has lately sold all his stock in that line he held. At the time Mr. O'Connor began the suit against him, he had 700 shares of stock in the Metropolitan Gas Works, worth about $1,365,000. He ordered its immediate sale, after suit hod been begun; and then the' rate was 195, but he forced it oh tbe market and disposed ofit for about 170. He is reported to have attempted to sell the lease of the Metropolitan Hotel. There . js. universal satisfaction exhibited .among men of all parties over the result of the election. Cbas.
