Tbe scenery is beautiful and it is a great Summer resort. The lake is 20 miles long by 10 to 12 in width. Wnshoe Lake, in Washoe Valiev, is but six or eight miles in length, by three . or flair in width. Pyramid Lake is 60 miles in length, and tea or twelve wide. A solitary peak rises 4,000 feet abuse the surface in the form of a pyramid, and gives name to the luke. It abounds in fine trout. Walker Lake, in Esmeralda county, is au irregular sheet of water 25 miles long, and from- tjx to ten miles wide. It ha an elevation of 4,200 feet, aud is well Rocked with fish. Carson Lake, in Churchill county, is oval in shape, and is about ten miles in diameter. The water is very salt. Humboldt I.ake, iu Humboldt county, is 23 miles long by ten wide. The Water is very impure with alkali and salt. The Kinks of the Carson and Hum-Lolrivers are long, shallow sheets of very brackish water, extending greatly in every direction during the rainy season, nnd contracting very much in the Summer.
