This celebrated lecturer in speaking of Mormon prosperity and liberality, says: "The Gentiles spend their money in saloons, while, the Mormons economise and appropriate theiys to useful purposes." Here lie proves too much ; for he proves himself a liar thats the word. There ar thousands of Gentiles in the Territory who are as much above him as t gentleman, as a decent man is above Brigham Young. Why didnt he inform bis renders that by the dictation of Brigham Yoang no Mormon is allowed to buy giods of a Gentile, but may 6ell Ito them or get money from tifem as best they tan. Why didnt he fell them 'that before they are oiled or greased ifi thej "endowment degree, they have to lake a fearful oath of secrecy, making tEeinselves eternal enemies to the United States, swearing to avenge the denthj of Joseph Smith, with ta penalty of death if they disclose! Good News. The Corinne Reporter furnishes the following milling item, which, if correct, will surpass any mines yet discovered on the Pacific coast, considering, too, that the mines in that locality were discovered during the month of July. The 'parties interested are worthy pioneers, and are worthy of the good prospect before them : After going to press on yesterdny, we heard of the extraordinary success which has followed in the steps of the prospectors on the south w est shore of the lake; and that the ledges of ore recently Rev. Ballard S. Dunn and Judge Elliott, of this city, are now, without excepting the Emma mine, looked upon as the richest strike hitherto made in Utah. It is said that the owners are offered $3,000,000 for a single claim of twenty-fou- r hundred feet, with reserve of interest to discoverers. Judge Elliott went south yesterday morning to look after hS portion of the mine, and from him we hope to get the true facts in the case. There is no question but the mi ties are of exceeding richness, while we think the value has been exaggerated in Salt Lake City, where frequently a doubtful "cropping is placed in bond, or hypothecated for impossible sums. Bullion District is west of the Great Desert, and can only be reached to advantage by crossing the lake. The name of the rich location is Dunns Canyon, and a partial realization in the reports now current, will make it more famous than Cottonwood. Being ik sight of this city, our people are fiaturally much excited over the news, and many now talk of going over to the new silverplatado, where there is naked, pacing ore in sight sufficient to supply all the mills and crushers in the Territory for ten years to come. These are the statements current on our streets, and we give them for wbat they are worth. diacov-eredb- C ommmnlcaled.
