Show Kids on Campus Campus' Cleova Williams Feature Editor Kids on Campus is an activity program for youths 10 to 16 years old Session I included classes in keyboarding key- key keyboarding keyboarding boarding crafts and sports Session II will be expanded to eight classes The youth in session I rated their classes classes classes clas clas- ses and unanimously indicated the classes and instructors were terrific Jenny Nelson workshop assistant said the children in sports were so animated we couldn't get them to sit still to eat lunch The children played their choice of games tennis games tennis soccer and basketball During tennis Karen Jeppson the instructor set up cans filled with prizes A player knocking one over got gotto gotto gotto to keep its contents Prizes included t-shirts t visors candy and money On the last day the children soaked each other with water balloons Keyboarding on Computers was designed for computer enthusiasts who want to have their fingers keep up with their brains The instructor Lorna Wells received rave reviews from her class She created computer rely races to help them learn their fingering The students favorite activity activity activity ac ac- ac- ac was making pictures with graphics from Word Perfect In Totally Crafts the st students dents spun a pot on a potters potter's wheel molded clay masks and designed t The projects were accomplished with flare Lye Dixon taught techniques yet allowed students intense self sion The additional five classes for session session session ses ses- sion II are Computers for Fun Function Function Function tion A More Attractive You Computer Aided Drafting Explore Electronics with Robots and Teen Power C 7 r l it 4 L a Y c. c t k f A j l Holly enjoys her keyboarding class |
