Show p Wood Appointed Student Senator By Kelly Fischer During a recent meeting of the Student Senate freshman David Davidr r Wood was appointed to replace Senator large Brett Falk who last quarter The Senate election was close Wood beat out by only one vote the other Senate nominees Randy Hurst Carmen McDonald and Mary Wood a third quarter Marketing Management student has been at at- at tending Student Senate enate meetings and filling in as an alternate for senator at George Trujillo Wood believes the most important important important tant issue for the Senate right now is to encourage more effective use of campus facilities Votes were tallied from a written ballot which unlike a vote by voice or show of hands allows each senator to vote in secret In the case of a tie the President of the Senate would cast the deciding vote The Student Senate consists of seven senators large and one appointed senator from each of the seven campus divisions To serve on the Senate a student must meet all requirements for holding a Student Association office These include earning at least nine credit hours per quarter and maintaining a cumulative of 25 during the term of office |
