Americans Are Pampered 1 k 4 s t Whimpering Brats by f ody Redd e f 0 b bi Americans a are e a breed of overindulgent nt p pampered mp red babie babies i At At the first first sign 1 of something they dont don't like they complain The subjects matter not they are areas areas areas areas' as as' varied as the complainants This whining has grown worse in recent years and has done nothing to better society If these whimpering brats could only witness how the majority of the rest of the world has to liv live they might be just a little more grateful for i what they do have There is a vast difference between watching poverty and degradation on the evening news and seeing it in person To get a mild dose of the best of the worst all that needed is is a trip to a country like Mexico Mexico may seem like a par paradise dise however once past past- the warm beaches and palm trees rees some very important differences become apparent The most important is the is-the the quality of life Once away from the tourist traps poverty i is everywhere a kind of poverty to mo most t Americans After getting to know some of t the e poor people and talking with them it becomes clear that their poverty is permanent There are no welfare programs programs' very little education no help for the handicapped inadequate sanitation and impure drinking water They come from a long line of poor people people- with very little hope of having a chance to better themselves The The- reactions of most Americans to these conditions is shock and abhorrence They h have ve never never had a man without legs pull himself up to them and b beg g for r money because that was the only way he could survive Likewise they hey have never seen five and six year old chil children lr n work in the fields fields' all day instead of going g to school because they could not exist any other way Once over their initial shock most Americans begin t to ask about the government of Mexico They cannot comprehend how a government could let leta a country deteriorate like this It is then that they realize the magnitude of the corruption First the same political party has controlled Mexico since 1926 tt increasing the odds against a fair election Second virtually every past i president has retired to Switzerland along with along with the national treasury Finally Finally- i there is very little free press or media in Mexico All n newspapers rs are government owned or or controlled When reading pap paper r or watching a news broadcast the one sided bias in which eye everything is presented present d becomes apparent r rIf If an American stays long enough he will inevitably have an encounter with I i Mexican law enforcement It i is then they r really ally start missing good ole Uncle Sam and apple pie Living is not th the same as back hom home Police carry sub-machine sub guns gun over th their ir shoulders and a nasty look on their faces Th They y have the authority to stop and search a person or or- ora a car at any time It isI is I to tp search ear all people entering a public building or attending an an- f J one of these th that t one wonders if t they had ever heard of the mi miranda anda decision Do Dont Don't t worry f. f they It is my wish that all Americans experience the tle wonders of the developing jy country then all an of their trivial complaining might turn to constructive ive crit criticism ism moreover t they ey might be just a little more grateful for what they t I have 1 i r |
