Show I War-Conscious Southerners Choose Conservative Styles Many coeds have been showing off their Christ- ( mas gifts in the way of clothes, lately. Carol Gardiner Gar-diner heads the list with her Chinese red dress with scalloped edges which can be worn on dates as well as in school. Red is also chosen for Karen Qwil-liam's Qwil-liam's plaid dress. As usual, suits still rate high on the Cubbette hit parade. A brown tailored one is chosen by Vada Walters. . Everybody will agree that June Oakland Oak-land looks wonderful in her tan suit, which is teamed with a blue sweater. Barbara Birkeland looks very nice in her olive green suit worn with a white blouse. A red tweed suit with a white blouse is a favorite with Marilyn Duke. Marilyn Beuhner has a blue and tan plaid suit which she wears with ' a white jewelry neckline blouse. Margie Bench also chooses a light blue plaid suit for school. Joyce Brewster picks a red jacket that will go with practically prac-tically all of her skirts. Sweaters and skirts are still favorites as school apparel. Janice Greaves wears a green sweater and a green and white plaid skirt. Margaret Gardner chooses a pink swater which she teams with a blue skirt. A plaid skirt and blue sweater is worn by Dorothy Shelton. Beverly Kartchner teams her red sweater with a red and black plaid skirt. A purple sweater and a gray skirt is a "turn your eye and look" combination worn by Shirley Snape. Thelma Collins looks nice in her British tan short-sleeved sweater. Have you seen Rosemarie Cooper's green cable-knit sweater? Take a look next time. Shirley Xorris wears a navy blue short-sleeved sweater with a navy blue shepherd checked skirt. Ski sweaters like Beverly Blaek's teel blue one can't be passed up. Another "must" on a high school girl's list is one or two cute blouses. . An unusual brown and white striped blouse is worn by Darlene Johnson. Beverly Willmore's round-neck beige blouse looks neat and efficient with her red skirt. White chiffon is chosen by Beth Bees in the jewelry neckline style. LaVerne Johnson likes lace like is seen on her white blouse. Carol Gerrard wears an unusual checked blouse that goes with her kelly green skirt. Who can resist talking about the boys and the "flashy" clothes? Sweaters such as Wally Jones' tan one top the average Cub's outfit. Gordon Graves' turquoise and red ski sweater is nice for school as well as for skiing. Hal and Hugh Sharp like their brown V-necked sweaters nearly as well as Doug Wagstaff likes his blue one. Many different differ-ent combinations can be worn with Cliff Hedge-petli's Hedge-petli's yellow sleeveless sweater. BUI Angelos wears a brown plaid sweater while Dick Dyer chooses a beige sweater. The girls all agree that Morris Kjar can wear anything and get away with it. Dale Marler chooses yellow angora socks, as does his pal Clair Payzant. Russell Stauffer combines a maroon sweater, tie, and socks with a blue shirt and checked pants, while Mark Nesbet chooses a tweed suit. Buddy Morrison wears a striped bow tie, as does Frank Sinatra (how did that get in?) Jackets are always favorites among the boys. Don Hoggan can wear his jacket with plaid sleeves with practically anything. Cliff Heaps chooses a brown corduroy jacket, while Bruce Goates wears a beige one. Shirts like Bob Leake's and Gordon Blosch's are ever popular in plaids and plain colors. Bill Dubbeld wears a blue and white striped sport shirt. All these and many more fashions are worn by war-conscious Cubs and Cubbettes. |
