Margetts and Jennie Mortlson, are maintaining lively Interest in their work. Considering the membership of the ward there is a relatively large attendance at their weekly joint meeting. On each occasion a preliminary program is provided. This consists of music, singing, recitations, readings. and brief talks. At the Tuesday evening meeting Miss KatesFordyce sang the "Holy It was very effective and deCity. lighted all who heard It. It showed very clearly that this young lady has natural talent, and this skillfully trained, coupled with a charming personality, bids fair to make a vocalist ot renown. Though a fine quality of copper ore has been opened In the mine, the ground lying nearer to the great rhyolite-porphyrdike, which hus intruded itself through the district, there is an increased amount of gold in the ores. Assays have disclosed as high as J 1,800 in the yellow metal, together with fine values in silver and lead. Willow Springs district, Deep Creek, Is progressing finely. This mine is one of the oldest in the Deep Creek country, and In the old days was considerable of a shipper, the ore being hauled to the railroad and netting a nice profit.
