The little miss weighed 8 lbs and 4 ozs and was 21 inches long. The name given her will be Haylie she was welcomed home by brother Seth. Laura and Haylie are home and doing fine. Grandparents are Merrell and Elaine Lyman of Fayette, Eddie and LaRue Johnson of Provo. Johnand Kathleen Bartholomew spent the weekend visiting with Larry and Sandra Lyttle and family in Alamo, Nevada and also with Mr. and Mrs. Steven Bartholomew and family of Cedar City. Cecil and Loma Bown visited last Monday and T uesday in Logan with their sons Kenneth and Clark. They are students at USU. Loma Bown and daughter in law Danielle enjoyed a family birthday party Thursday in Springville forLomas mother Mrs. Shirley Nielsen who is now 81 years young. Loma took her mother for a ride up through Mapleton and visited with Mr. and Mrs. Marion Tree and family. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Harrop spent last weekend visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Royce Harrop and son in Layton and also with Mr. and Mrs. David Meade in Provo. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Bartholomew attended Sacrament meeting Sunday in Orem with their son Clayton and wifeTeri and sons and enjoyed the afternoon visiting with them. Darrell and Maxine Bolinder visited Friday night and Saturday morning with their son Ron and wife Cindy and family in Erda. Visiting with the Bolinders at their home were their son Jerry and sons Steven and Brad and a nephew Kirk Madsen of Grantsville. Spending the weekend with John and Kathleen Bartholomew were their daughters Sheri and husband Mike Johnson and son 2(achary of West Jordan Guest speakers in Sacrament meting were Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Walser of Mayfield. John Ruskin little worse Ivan Reed Sorenson, 83 Ivan Reed Sorenson, 83, died January 23, 1993, in Gunnison, Utah. He was born December 13, 1909, in Centerfield, Utah to Niels Peter and Sophia Amellia Sorensen Sorenson. He married Edith Jane Goode, March 28, 1936 in Nephi, Utah. He has been a 4-Teacher, and served as a Couselor in the Sunday School Superintendency. He has worked hard throughout his life.He worked for WPA, LA. Young, Provo City, Gunnison Sugar Factory, and was also a dairy farmer, belonging to the WDCI. He was a Democratic party chairman and also served as president of the Willow Creek Irrigation Company. Survivors include: his wife, Edith; children,: Mrs. Ned (Norma) Christensen, Murray; Mrs. Ronald (Lois) Argyle, Spanish Fork, UT; Mrs. Keith (Leah) Bird, Axtell; Fay Martell, SLC; Reed and Donna Sorenson, Axtell. He was preceded in death by a wife, Melba Ashcraft, and Daughter, Mary; also preceded by 7 brothres and two sisters. Survivors also include: 14 grandchildren; H Funeral services were held January 26, 1993 at Noon in the Centerfield LDS Chapel. A viewing was held the prior evening at the Axtell LDS Chapel. Burial was in the Centerfield Cemetery, under the direction of the Warren R. Jensen Funeral Home. June C. Crawford June Johnson Chynoweth Crawford passed away peacefully January 16, 1993, in Olympia, Washington. Former a resident of Antimony, she had made her home in Olympia for some time. She was bom June 6, 1917 in Antimony, Utah to George R. and She Amanda McNelly Johnson. married Ivan Chynoweth. He died She later married R. Michael Crawford. Survivors include her husband, of Olympia: June was the loving mother of four children, Mrs. Wade (Ivanna) Stowe, Aurora, Utah; Jimmie (Joan) Chynoweth, Salt Lake City; Wanda McClain, Mariette Georgia; Keith (Marilyn) Chynoweth Sympathy is extended to Edith Sorenson, and children, Reed, Faye, Helen, Leah, Lois and Norma and families, in the loss of their husband, father and grandfather, Ivan Sorenson, who died Saturday, January 23, after spending several days in Gunnison Valley Hospital. Funeral services were held Tuesday January 26, in the Centerfield Ward Chapel, with a lunch held in Axtell prepared by the Axtell Ward Relief Society. Stella Lee Jensen spent Thursday, in Ephraim visiting her mom, Stella Anderson, and helping her out. Stellas sister, Elaine of Salt Lake, was also there for the day. Gayle Ball and Carrie Edwards took their mother, LaPreal Olsen, out to lunch to celebrate her birthday on January 19. Daughter, Leisa Crane and family, of Centerfield, were out to help Dean and Jentry Anderson celebrate Deans birthday, Tuesday, January 19. Preston and Sheryl Steiger were in Salt Lake on the weekend to attend the Jazz Game. Letitia and Derek enjoyed staying with Grandma and Grandpa Phyllis and Richard Cowley and Joe and Logan. Trudy Despain was in Salt Lake on Wednesday. Donna Vee and Leland Sorenson were happy to have their son, Steve and Patti and children Cole Sheldon Washington; two stepchildren, Wayne Chynoweth, CA; Maxine Crowder, Salt Lake; and sister. Fern Graham, of Reno, NV. She was the very special grandmother of 23 grandchildren; 29 greatgrandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and children from everywhere. Memorial Services were held Friday, January 22, 1993, in Olympia, WA, with additional Memorial Services to be held Thursday, January 28, 1993 at Noon in the Antimony LDS Chapel with Bishop Layne Blood conducting. Burial will follow in the Antimony Cemetery. The Young Women New Beginning was held Sunday evening with Eunice Despain and Sharon Mecham in charge. Brother and Sister Troy Birch, of Gunnison were the speakers. Maghan Mecham placed a piano solo. Sara Sanders played a flute solo and Amy Buckland conducted the program. Their response included four truck loads of books and supplies from Utah teachers. An added bonus came when UEA president Lily Eskelsen visited the relocated students and present a check for $ 1 795 . The money had been collected from individual teachers throughout the state. The Salina Utah Stake Boy Scouts held their Klondike Derby Friday and Saturday at Salina Creek. The boys and their leaders participated in campfire programs and competitions. The Redmond Blazers came away with first place awards for Log Cutting, Fire Building and the Dog Sled. The Boy Scouts were awarded second place in fire building, wood cutting and first in the dog sled. They all reported they had a great time. Winston Churchill Danny Wilkins earns Ralph Lavar Jensen, 81 Ralph Lavar Jensen, 81, of Provo, died December 15, 1992 of causes incident to age. He was bom in Centerfield, Utah, August 14, 1911 to Antone and Inger Johanna Hansen Jensen. He married Ida Edwards in Gunnison, Utah, May4, 1939.
