Visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Keith Bartholomew and family Tuesday were Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Christiansen of Salt Lake. They also visited with Mr. and Mrs. Glen Lyman and with Mr. and Mrs. Muriel Lyman. The Bartholomew girls Susan, Rose, Mary Ann and Tracie returned to Salt Lake with their grandparents and enjoyed the rest of the week with them. With several family birthdays falling close together Dean and. Darlene Bartholomew decided to have one large birthday for them all together. They held it at the Fayette Park and all of their family were Visiting last Wednesday with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Mellor were Mrs. Anna Mellor and Mrs. Micheal Mellor and the Mellors great grandchildren Mandi, Angela, Amber and Alician all of Lakeshore. Visiting last week with Mrs. Fern Mellor were Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Hammond of Salt Lake, Mrs. Craig Lund and children of Redmond, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Turner of Springville and Mrs. Michael Newby and children of Monroe and Trenton Hone. Mr. and Mrs. John Bartholomew and daughter Sheri accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Scctt Bartholomew on a trip to Yellowstone Paik. They toured through the park Saturday, Sunday and Monday and on their way home T uesday they left Kathleen in Logan where she visited with Mr. and Mrs. John Davis and daughter though Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. DcLange Lambertscn of Parowan visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Glen Lyman. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Mellor attended the blessing of their grandson Robby Garth Mellor on the August 6. Robbys grandfather Grover Childs gave the blessing, Garth and Karen Mellor arc the proud parents. The grandparents and other relatives on both sides of the family helped make there except Janice and Rex and children, Mrs. Braithwaite, grandmother of Paul and Pams children also attended and enjoyed the party together. Mis. Izola Bartholomew attended the Brigham and Mary Jensen family reunion Saturday at the Gunnison Park. A good crowd attended and they enjoyed the day together. Adam, Brandon and Micheal Moore of Orem visited last week with their grandparents Ivan and Bessie Mellor. , Gunnison News Helen Rasmussen - 528-322- Ruby Fjcldstcd recently celebrated 87th birthday. Forty one mem- her bers of her family met at the park in Bountiful and helped Ruby celebrate. There were children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. David and Layne Rasmussen and children Alise and Nathan from Auburn, WA. have been visiting with their mother Helen Rasmussen and Curtis and Marsha Anderson and family. They have had family parties with Paul and Diana Rasmussen and family of Ephraim. Andy and Lisa Sperle of Minneapolis, Minnesota visited with their grandmother Ruby Fjeldsted. Andy is going to dental school and Lisa works for the telephone company. Ruby was glad to visit with them. Lisa is also the granddaughter of Rendell and Viola Hendrickson. Elaine Christensen has had several members of her family visit her. Brent Christensen brought his daughter Courtney and her friend Heather to visit. Ronnie and Sherri Hill and son Austin from St. George visited with Elaine. Ronnie played in a golf Redmond News 1 - 529-755- 2 JJ -- ily were all in Salt Lake City Thursday to enjoy the Johnson family reunion at Magic Waters. Also there was Mr. and Mrs. Kent Johnson. The Regional Horse Show was held in Richfield Tuesday. Five Counties were represented. Sevier Sr. Team, which consisted of Jennifer Johnson, Redmond, Amanda Nielson, Sigurd, Shelly Forsyth, Sigurd, Margie Clark, Monroe, and Ellen Batty, Annabclla was high point at the end of the day and they get to compete in State Team competition to be held in Salt Lake City in September. The Jr. team from Sevier also took high point. Many Redmond residents participated in the fair this past week. It was a fun and good experience for all. Dcran Bosshardt was released Sunday as a Sunday School teacher. Sustained was Margaret Smith as a Sunday School teacher. The Ira Jensen family reunion was held last weekend at the Whitney Christensen cabin at Accord Lakes. Whitney and Mary had 20 family members there, Enid and 4-- H Tom Wintch of Manti had 9 members present and Doreen Thompson of Provo had 15 members of her family in attendance. A family quilt was put together and tied out under the trees where it was cool and the young people rode 4 wheelers and took hikes. Everyone had a fun time. Visiting with the Paul W illardson has been their son Michael and some of his children. At the home of Nathan and Betty Anderson this weekend has been Geoff and Shanna Anderson and some friends. There were of Julies brothers and sisters and their families there. They celebrated mother Marjorie 75th birthday on Saturday. Rusty and Nicole James remained to spent the week with grandma and grandpa Sorenson. Reg Thorpe visited with his parents Lucille and Cameron Thorpe It was omitted from the news last week that Marshall and Rita Sorenson and Melody, Matthew and marcus were in attendance at the Julie and Elwood Sorenson family a reunion. They were in charge of SAturdays activities which included dinner at the Church patio and swimming in the Gunnison Pool. The family of Arva Lee Bertcl-so- n have been very busy the past while putting a new roof on her house. Helping with that project have been Karl Humphrey, Kreig, Kory and Kendall Bcrtclson. Virginia took her mother to America Fork for eye surgery while she was here. They all visited on Sunday with Leland and Donna Vee and enjoyed lunch. She was bom on January 10, 1906 to Edwin Thomas Watts and Laura Hannah in Axtell, Utah. She married Mike Simpson in SaltLakeCity on May 11, 1925. He died in 1942. She loved writing letters to friends and family and reading the scriptures. She was active in the LDS Church as a Sunday School teacher and a visiting teacher. She loved books and quilting. Survivors include: Two sons, Bob Simpson and Stanley Simpson both of Salina; Three daughters, Mrs. Milton (Leora) Peterson; Mrs. Viola Larsen of Salina and Mrs. Card (Arva) Shaw, Aurora. 1 7 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 1 great great granddaughter and 1 brother. Moral Watts. Preceded in death by 3 grandchildren, 5 sisters and 2 brothers. Horace James Horne Horace James Home, age 87 passed away on August 13, 1989 in the Care Web Nursing Home in Orem. He was bom on July 13, 1902 in Richfield, Utah to Henry James Home and: Matilda Hicks. He married Charlotte Gates on November 1924 in Salina. ' He was a farmer and a carpenter. of the Salina Creek Irrigation Company, a member of Salina City Council, Appraiser for Sevier county for years, worked at a parachute factory and latdb at a clothing factory. Survivors include: One son, Ralph H. Home, Orem; daughters, Mrs. Byron (Elaine) Allred, Salina and Mrs. Wallace (Evelyn) Braithwaite, Hooper, 14 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.
