SET FOR SEPTEMBER 23 C. Orson Rasmussen of Bick-nelwho is well known in Salina, The registration date set for former high school students who will enter the University of Utah for the first time this fall, has been set for Thursday, September 23. All new students at-- j tending the state institution as members of the freshmen class will be given two days instruc-- j tion before the regular registration day for j These will consist of special lec-- ; tures and informal talks to the new students. Indications are such that a first year class of over ,000 students is expected to attend the university this year, according to authorities at the institution. If the anticipated increase in regis- tration is correct there will be a total of more than 3,000 stu- dents at the university this year, will be a record-breakfor size. l, Fer Former Besident was. brought to the Salina hospital last Thursday for treatment of serious injuries he received two weeks ago, when the horse he was riding slid and fell, pinMr. ning him to the ground. Rasmussen was riding the range when the accident occurred and was hurried immediately to Bick-nefor first aid treatment. Bad cuts and bruises on his leg and thigh seemed to be the extent of the hurts and relatives entertained hopes that he would soon recover with plenty of care and rest. The patient became steadily worse, however, and his Cliford Elliott, and Mrs. Rasmussen brought him to Salina for further treatment. It was discovered that an abscess had formed on his thigh and necessitated a light operation. After further attention Mr. Rasmus-se- n was removed to the home of his brother, Ira Rasmussen, and is now steadily recovering. His wife is still with him. F.Pl 0.
