Figuring our population at 11,500 (the census ol 1920 was 11,282), the per capita decrease in tax amounts to more than two dollars. Each post in the state is entitled to two delegates for the post and one additional delegate for every fifteen members in good standing. This is based on the membership of Aug. 20. Voting strength will be according to the number of delegates each post is entitled to. The call for the American. Legion .Auxiliary convention is also being distributed by Mrs. Lamar Nelson, department secretary and signed by Mrs. J. A. Howell, department president. The American Legion Auxiliary will hold its convention at the same time and place as the Legion convention, The wprk ot the first annual convention of the Auxiliary will be' to ratify the decisions of the department caucus held in Ogden in June, to adopt the department constitution, and to elect certain officers. One day of the convention will be featured by a parade and prizes will be given for the best historical and patroitic floats. Entertainment will be provided by the Logan Auxiliary unit and Logan post No. 7. All veterans of the world war are invited whether they belong to the Legion or not. E. Peterson and Frands Peterson. August Petersen, who has conducted the store for several years past, is retiring. . The amount involved in the transaction is not given at this time. C. E, Peterson, senior member of the firm, has been assistant cashier of the First State Bank of Salina for ten years, and is at the present time bishop of the Second ward of this city. He is one of the enterpris-- . mg young business men of Salina. Frands Peterson, associated in has resided in this section for nearly ten years. He is prom- inent in the business circles and is among the largest stock growers here. The business was turned over to the new owners last Thursday and it is announced that the policy of the company will be to supply the best the market affords.
