Show The Salma Sun C Thursday, September AREA OBITUARIES Mr. and and Mrs. Mae Pinneo, Salt Lake, were here visiting at the home of Mrs. Dorothy Murphy. REDMOND Services for Charles -- Kenneth Hales, 79, who died Sept 7, 1983 were held Saturday, Sept. 10, 1983 in the Redmond Ward Chapel. He was bom Aug. 29, 1904 in Redmond to John smith and Rebecca Mickelsen Hales. He married Una Bernice Nielson on June 12, 1929 in Manti. She died Aug. 3, 1976. He married Ema C. Draper on March 17, 1979 in the Manti LDS Temple. He was a retired brick mason and farmer. He worked in the Manti Temple and was serving a mission with his wife in the extraction program of the IDS Church at the time of his death. Survivors include four sons and one daughter, Pryce, Centerville; Mrs. Lee (Bernice) Newman, West Valley City; Kay, Don, both Redmond; Boyd, Bountiful; 38 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; one stepson, four stepdaughters; three brothers, one sister, Mrs. Vontess Jensen, Marwood and Willis, all Redmond; Hal, Mesa, Az. Services were conducted by Myron Mickelsen, counselor in the Redmond Ward Bishopric. Prayere were offered by Hal Hales, Brent Hales and Karl Hales. Prelude and postlude music was played by Marjorie Mickelson and Ella Lee Lund. Speakers were Stad Hales, Marwood Hales and Myron Mickelsen. Sands of Time was sung by Richard for Richard ces AverCurtis, 80, who died Sept 11, 1983 in Provo were conducted Wednesday in the Aurora First Ward building. He was bom Nov. 24, 1902 to Heber Ezra and Sarah Ann Parting Curtis in Aurora. He married Cassie Elnora Johnson in Aurora April 7, 1924. The marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. He was a farmer and a member of the LDS Church. Survivors indude his wife, son, Sid R Curtis, both Aurora; daughters and sons, Mrs. Robert L (Lenna) Winn, Cedar City; Don A. Curtis, Kearns; Mia. John (Gwen) Shepherd, Pleasant Grove; Dan L Curtis, Murray; Mrs. Terry L (Von-dRobins, Centerville; Mrs. Kyle (Elnora) Stanley, Las Vegas; 30 a) Miss Mary Kiesel was home from Provo visiting at the home of Mrs. Evelyn Kiesel. Miss Susette Sorensen, Provo, was here visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Sorensen. Visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Crane have been Mr. and Mrs. Kurk Crane and Mr. and Mrs. Rick Pingree and Mr. and Mrs. Larry Anderson, all of Salt Lake. Visiting last weekend at the home of Mr. and Mrs. McKay Mickelsen were Mr. and Mrs. Jim Mickelsen, Debbie and Tammy Hales accompanied by Karen Nielsen. How Great Thou Art was sung by Sharolyn Hales accompanied by Cheryl Hales. Another special musical number was sung by grandsons accompanied by Karen Nielsen. Dedication of the grave was by Willis Hales at Redmond Cemetery under the direction of Springer-Fet-erso- n Mortuary. Pallbearers were Kenneth Newman, Michael Hales, Calvin Hales, Troy Hales, Christopher Hales and Richard OGaffny. Honorary pallbearers were Burke Newman, Richard Hales, Brent Hales, Kari Hales, John Newman, Collin Hales, Rex Hales and Chad Hales. A. Curtis REDMOND Leda Cecilia Jensen, 79, died Sept. 6, 1983 in Richfield. She was bom in Redmond July 17, 1904 to Ephraim and Annie Maria Petersen Jensen. She married Jabez Martin Jensen in the Manti LDS Temple April 22, 1925. He died Dec. 11, 1963. She taught Sunday School and served in ward and stake organizations for the LDS Church. Survivors include son, Ellis Lee Jensen; three grandsons, all Salt Lake City; four sisters, Mrs. Alta Bills, Salt Lake City; Eva Jensen; Mrs. Marvin (Esmont) Jensen; Mrs. Byron (Vera) Jensen; all Redmond. She was preceded in death by a brother, Ardale Jensen. Services were Saturday, Sept 10 at 2 p.m. in the Redmond Wand and conducted by Bishop Neal Bosshar-dt- . Special musical numbers were rendered by a double trio who sang When I Take My Vacation in and Beyond the SunHeaven, set The double trio was made up of Donna Anderson, Luella Jorgensen, Betty Anderson, Anna Fae Hales, Fay Hampton, and Joy Mickelson. The accompaniest was Ella Lee Lund. A special organ solo was played by Roger Jensen, a grandson. Talks were given by Douglas Jensen, Lee Jensen, and Bishop Bosshardt. Postlude music was by Mrs. Lund and Marjorie Mickelson. Dedication of the grave at Redmond Cemetery was by Hal Jensen under the direction of Warren R Jensen Fhneral Home. Aurora News The town was saddened Sunday by the death of Avery Curtis. Our condolences go out to all of his family and friends. The Aurora First Ward held their budget banquet Saturday night at the park. Everyone enjoyed a great meal. Camron Mason and Jeremy Kjar went to the district Cub Scout Olympics last Saturday in Richfield. They had a great time. Ray and Jan Perry went to Provo last week for a family reunion with all of Jans brothers and sisters and parents. They all had a nice stroll down memory lane. Bob Hales is in the hospital in Richfield after an appendectomy. He came home last Tuesday and is feeling better. Here to visit him were Mrs. Joy Green, Canoga Park, Cal.; Dent Hales, Sandy; Carolyn Horan, Highland. He appreciated all the calls and visits from family and friends. Congratulations to Hillary Thompson and Adam Brady Anderson who were married Saturday in Aurora. James and Elayne Stewarts baby is getting better in the Provo hospital after a serious viral infection. Sharon Stowe Johnson and son have been visiting Wade and Ivana Stowe for a few weeks and visiting with Preston. Preston is doing greatj and recovering nicely. The Aurora Park has received a face lift. They closed off the bridge because it was unsafe and built a new road on the south side of the park. Karen and Thurel Mason spent a few days in Jackson Hole for a vacation. Kim. and Vema Sorenson took their kids to the zoo and the Smurf Ice Capades show last weekend. Bill and Rose Weaver hosted friends at a luau held at their home last Saturday evening. The food was delicious and everyone had a great time. Magna Cum Laude Jodi Marshall Burr graduated from BYU recently magna cum laude in athletic training and science. She also selected as her-- ' departments valedictorian. She currently is employed in the Granite School District in Salt Lake as a science teacher at Brockbank Junior High School.
