Troy Hatch ( first Wolf on the left and Farron Durfey (right of Hatch) took second and third respectively in the Beaver Invitational last week. Women Take Second At Juab Invitational The North Sevier High School Womens Track Team took second place at the Juab Invitational, coming in one point behind 2 A Wasatch High School of Heber City. More Ladies Golf The opening social for the Palisades Ladies Golf Association will be May 3. The Association invites all interested golfers to come and play a round of golf and join the officers at a luncheon. The Golf professional at Palisades, Kirk Abegglen, will hold a brief golf seminar before the play. Sign ups are at 9:30a.m. ; class at 9:45a.m. and tee off times at 10a.m. The luncheon is scheduled for 12:30. Officers encourage the ladies to come and join the fun. Beginners are welcome as well as expert golfers. NSHS is a 1A school. Individually, Michelle Anderson took third in the 100 and 200 meter runs. Jeri Marshall took fourth in the two mile run. Neresa Nielsen took first place in the javelin. Debbie Reynolds took third in the 400 meter run. Jill Reynolds placed first in the discus and shot put. Kelly Shaheen placed fourth in the long jump, 100 meters, and 200 meter run. Allison Steiger placed second in the high jump. Georgia Johnson placed first in the 400 meters. The 400 meter relay team of Kelly Shaheen, Jill Reynolds, Neresa Nielsen and Michelle Anderson took first place. The medley relay team of Neresa Nielsen, Allison Steiger, Georgia Johnson and Jeri Marshall took second place. The mile relay team of Debbie Reynolds, Jill Reynolds, Allison Steiger and Georgia Johnson took second. 4th Ward Cubs Hold Pinewood Derby Race Salina Fourth Ward winners were named in the annual Salina Fourth Ward Cub Scout pinewood derby program held in the Salina Stake Center, April 20. In the Cub Scout Division, Kerry Baker took first place with Justin Nielson, Jason Heniy, and Curt Ricker making the competition so hard that the races had to have two trial runs. In the Weblo Division, Jeff Hard-war- d took first place with Buike Swindlehurst and James Durfey coming in with a dose second and third places. , Refreshments were served to all the families attended. NSHS also took second place in " o REMINGTON 155SR-1- 3 Scott Mason wins the two mile run the 440 relay with Jeff Edwards, Vince Johnson, Bruce Briggs and Chuck W ilson. Gymnasts Take Eighth Allyson Sorensen, Waydann Stowe and Georgia Johnson were the NSHS gymnasts who brought the school to eighth place against 2A, 3A and 4A schools at Provo last week. Wilson took first in the 100 yard dash for the North Sevier High School Track Team and Mason took first in the two mile run. Johnson took first in the pole vault. Burr took first in the high jump. Johnson and Mason also did well at the Juab Meet where several track men from NSHS competed. Johnson took first in pole vault with a 12 ft. 3 inch vault and Mason took second in the two mile run with a personal best time of 10.36. Both men qualified for the state meet. At the Beaver Meet, Wilson also took second in the 220 yard dash and third in the long jump. Troy Hatch took second in the 880 yard run and the mile run, Bruce Briggs took second in the javelin and Farron Durfey took second in the pole vault and third in the mile run. Jeff Edwards took fourth in the 100 yard dash; third in the 120 high hurdles and fifth in the long jump. Vince Johnson took fourth in the 220 yard dash and third in the 880 yard run. Gaylan Springer took third place in the high jump and third in the pole vault. Dana Sorenson took fourth in the 330 intermediate hurdles ahead of Jeff Rodeman who took fifth. Rode-ma- n also took fourth in the long jump. Shane Harward took fourth in the 880 yard run behind Hatch and Johnson but ahead of John Hansen who took fifth. Tim Tsosie took fifth in the two mile run. Mark Colby took fourth in the pole vault putting four Wolves in the top four spots in that event. Hal Koozer took fourth place in the discus throw ahead of fifth place J.R. Carter, In the mile relay, Dana Sorensen, Troy Hatdi Vince Johnson and Bruce Briggs came in second place.
