Show Redmond News Sidney and Nellie Peterson had a dice 'weekend trip with their child- - , ; ren, Ray and Shiriey Rasmussen, ' Murray, Mrs. Ella Christensen, Magha and Ralph and Phyllis Moi ley, JCaysville. They visited Zions S' Ptuk and the St. George area. They v had dinner at the Homespun Rest-- ' aurant in Leeds and a Chinese . dinner at the Rickshaw Cafe in St. George. In Sunset, they visited Sidneys grandchildren Earl and Sheila Mickelsen and family. Congratulations to the Varsity Scouts who took first place in volleyball in Richfield. Those participating were: Geoff Anderson, Jerold Tsosie, Ted Mickelsen, Kyle Bosshardt, Brenda Bosshardt, Troy Hales and Leonard Serrano. Glenon Anderson is their advisor. They played four teams and won. They will go to Snow College in June to compete. In Sacrament meeting, membership records were read for Hans Lewis Hansen, Nancy, and their daughter, Dawn, and of Michael Ted Burr. We welcome these people here. Rex Hales was ordained a Teacher in the Aaronic Priesthood and Billy Tanner a Deacon. Angela Rasmussen was the youth speaker. A ladies chorus sang a special number directed by Luella Jorgensen and accompanied by Laura Christiansen. The Kitchen Band played at the Richfield Court House for National Arts Week. Ekiroute there they attended the golden wedding open house for Uoyd and Melva Johnson, Aurora. Lester Jensen had his daughter Eris and husband Bill Meuller, Wyo. spend a few days with him. They were guests at the Senior Citizens party. Mrs. Vera Anderson was hostess to luncheon for friends, Mrs. Reva Sorenson, Mrs. Adelaide Shurtz and Mrs. Arvilla Rasmussen Sunday afternoon. Her son, Jack Anderson, S.LC., and Scarlett Anderson and family are visiting her. Robert and Scarlett Anderson had her mother,' Mrs. Robert (Lila) Andrews and her sister, Mrs. Allen (Rebecca) Winters, S.LC., visit them. It is interesting to learn that Allens great great grandmother was Rebecca Winters of pioneer 1 Will-ardse- Hales-eounselor- fame. Don and Iris Hales hosted dinner Sunday for Wayne and Phyllis Nelson, Grace, Terrel, Rhea and sons Kirby and Kenny and Leslie and family. They attended the golden wedding for the Johnson in Aurora and attended the Junior Prom for Debbie Hales. Nathan and Betty Anderson and son, Geoff and daughters Shanna and Mrs.' Glen Alder attended the Testimonial for his- - mother,' Mrs. Rhoda Anderson, Sundjay at Union Fourth Ward. A program following a luncheon included a novelty song, Grandmothers Blue Checked Apron by Joy Mickelsen, Jolene Wilardsen and Teri Lyn Williams, accompanied by Laura Christiansen; a humorous reading by Viigie Nielsen and a poem by Venna Austin. The lesson was given by Carol Christensen and a history by Vontess Jensen. Orvil Jensen celebrated his 81st birthday with his famliy. Their son, Farrel and Valene Jensen and family, S.LC., came Friday and Saturday. Udell and Lou Gene Johnson, Wyo. and children, Mrs. Terry (Valerie) Hansen and children and Sue Johnson, S.LC., came for the Junior Prom. Their son, Jody, is Junior. Robert Black canvassed the town for the Arthritis Foundation Fhnd this week. Heading the Cancer Drive were Joy Mickelsen and Ellen Bosshardt. Mrs. Karol (Loma) Draper hosted a birthday dinner for Karol. Helping him share his day were his children, Dan and Judy Lofland and family, Fillmore, Mrs. Sam (Clover) Watson and children, Salem, and Lee and Tammy Draper, Ephraim and a friend, Rae Ellen Hare, Fillmore. Clifford Christensen was in Lay-to- n attending the golden wedding anniversary of his brother, Ronald and Arthela Christensen, held at the home of their son, Mr. and Mrs. Gail Sorenson. This weekend he went to Fairview to stay with his grandchildren while their parents, Dick and Marilyn James were on a trip. Recently, Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Ashman attended the annual spring concert of the Swanee Singers Male Chorus held in the Highland School Auditorium in Salt Lake City. Their son, Gerry Ashman, and nephew, Stephen Anderson, sing in the chorus of sixty members. Their director is. Dr. Jay J. Campbell, Associate State Superintendent of Public Instruction. The purpose of the chorus is to bring good .music to audiences and to help various organizations in - entertainment and fund raising promotions. In this work of love, they have, raised over 81 million for church and civic organizations. In June the Swanees will go on their second concert tour in Mexico. The chorus has toured the West coast, the intermountain states, Hawaii, and a Caribbean. Gerritt Peterson, S.LC., came down Saturday and put the sewer pipe in for his mother, Elsie Peterson. He also visited his parents in law, Blain and Ruby Poulson. Marvel and Darlene Anderson went to S.LC. Saturday and Sunday and visited their son, Mr. and Mrs. Coy Anderson and family. Mrs. Vera Anderson went with as far as Spanish Fork and attended church with her cousin, Helen Hansen. Helens daughters, Carla Hansen and Mrs. Shariene Brown surprised her with an open house for her 80th birthday. Vera attended and also Marvel and Dariene as they came bade from S.LC. Larry and Norma Streadbeck and family, Kaysville, spent Friday and Saturday with her parents, Que and Mattal Mickelsen. Ronald and Ellen Bosshardt hosted dinner on Saturday for them and Mrs. Christy Mixkelsen, Myron and Joy Mickelsen and family and the children of Glen and Shiriey Mickelsen, Ted, Kimberlie and ark. Mrs. Edris Mickelsen went to Provo for eye surgery at the Utah Valley Hospital. She stayed with her sister and brother-in-laFloyd and Leora Giles. Best wishes go out to her. The Neighborhood Watch meeting Tuesday evening was not well attended. Deputy Sheriff Tom Jensen talked about fraud and how to be aware of it and also measures to be taken to prevent home break-inRefreshments were served by Tom and Jan Hales who were in charge of the meeting. Merril and Alice Peterson, Cedar City, visited Merril and Faye Hampton, Wednesday April 20. The ladies are sisters.
