Show Gilbert and Sullivan Coming to S. Valley North Sevier musical comedy lovers are invited to South Sevier High School for a taste of operetta. Making its first appearance in Sevier Valley, the renowned Gilbert and Sullivan repertory company Opera a la Carte will present HMS Pinafore at South Sevier High School W ednesday, April 14, at 8 p.m. The performance is part of the companys spring tour and is sponMusored by sic Guild, whose members will be admitted free. Others may purchase tickets for $5 for adults and $2.50 for children. No infants or children under 12 will be admitted. Tickets are available in Salina at Salina Drug and from the Guild representatives Mr. and Mrs. Kent Jacobsen, Aurora, and Ruby Fjeldsted of Gunnison. Based in Los Angeles and founded in 1970 by n British Gilbert and Sullivan specialist Richard Sheldon, Opera a la Carte has enjoyed a rapid rise to fame. Starting out as a small concert ensemble, the company produced its first full scale production, five The Mikado, years later. As its repertoire grew, so did its reputation as a touring company with high standards and artists of outstanding calibre. Its authentic productions have established Opera a la Carte as a totally unique organization, and the foremost Gilbert and Sullivan touring repertory company in the United States. HMS Songs from Pinafore which have gained popularity include We Sail the Ocean Blue, Im Called little The Ruler Buttercup, of the Queens Navy, and the hilarious trio, Never Mind the Why and Wherefore.
