PEERLESS j It is said that when Judge Landis was a little boy he yearned to be a locomotive engineer, and wished that he might ride on the engine on the business end of the train. Not long since he was treated to a ride on the locomotive of one of the New York Centrals fastest trains, riding the engine from Laporte, Indiana, to Elkhart. We are willing to wager that after such an exciting experience as hanging onto the seat box of a swaying locomotive at 70 miles an hour he is willing to dmit that the men who fire and operate locomotives are entitled to every cent they get in wages.
