Show Utah Hereford Association Plans Auction Sales Members of the Utah Hereford association convened at the New-house New-house Hotel in Salt Lake on Saturday, April 13 to elect new officers and formulate plans for the holding of auction sales for the year 1946-47. A special guest of the group was Charles Mc-Ilvaine Mc-Ilvaine a representative of the American Hereford association. Although no definite dates have been set for the year's auction auc-tion sales, it was tentatively agreed ag-reed to conduct them as follows: Vernal, October 31 or November 2; Price, early in November; Spanish Fork, December 12; Cedar City, February 20 and Richfield, February 22. Arrange ments were also made lo noia a show at each of the sales for the purpose of picking auction champions. cham-pions. Enthusiasm over the statewide state-wide move to improve beef cattle cat-tle quality was in evidence at the convention, and it was unanimously unan-imously agreed that the association associa-tion would maintain a standard of Hereford quality as set forth in its declaration of purpose. It was further agreed that violation viola-tion of any of the rules of the association as-sociation would result in loss of membership. In the election of officers, Rul-on Rul-on F. Peterson of Ogden was chosen to succeed himself as president; J. K. Wheeler of Salt Lake was reelected to the vice-presidency vice-presidency and the following board of directors was named: Hyrum Winterton, Kamas; Ray Jensen, Logan; C. B. Hawley, Richfield; R. S. Lusty, Duchesne and Max Anderson, Tremonton. Two new members were added to the board bringing the total board membership to nine. The two new directors are: Charles Reed, LaSal and Waldon Isom, Cedar City. |
