Show funeral services held sunday tor for church worker mrs florence bacon laid to rest in Ced cedarview arview cemetery inspiring funeral services were held in the roosevelt ward chapel sunday at 2 p m under the direction of the monteel ward bishopric for mrs florence elizabeth halliday bacon 84 who died at the family residence in cedar view thursday afternoon of causes incident to old age bishop arthur presided and invocation was offered by john L parry of monteel Mon twel musical numbers were furnished by the s singing ing mothers of roosevelt ward by john E who sang a vocal solo and mrs frank shaw who played an organ selection speakers were roger horrocks of neola levi J anderton of duchesne and thomas R todd former bishop of the cedarview Ced arview ward all paid tribute to the long and exemplary life of mrs bacon benediction was pronounced by ray E dillman and the grave in the cedarview Ced arview cemetery was d dedicated edi by K R houtz of cedar view pallbearers Pall bearers were john L parry robert A alexander wm A labrum K X R houtz ernest pierce and james E hamblin born in salt lake mrs bacon a daughter of george and prudence kendall halliday was born in salt lake city august 17 1854 she spent her childhood in pleasant grove and in 1874 married william bacon of that city mr bacon died in in 1900 and was buried in wayne count county Y in 1911 mrs bacon with her family moved to the reservation settling first in hayden and later in cedarview Ced arview where she has lived lin since that time she was a leader in the community and an active church worker having served as relief society president in her ward for about twelve years surviving are four sons and two bacon clarence orr bacon george bacon and james E bacon all of cedarview Ced arview mrs robert bhelt brecht of salt lake city and mrs wealthy mae nielson of st george utah she is survived by 21 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters mrs wealthy shaffer of cedarview Ced arview mrs clara litjen of 0 salt lake city mrs serena hudson of santaquin San utah joseph halliday of pleasant grove and vernee halliday of san francisco california |
